Aerobic restoration technology

Aerobic restoration technology in landfill means inject fresh air, leachate and other fluids into depth of landfill by a controllable way, meanwhile, extract carbon dioxide and methane, and monitor reac- tion temperature, humidity, air exhaust composition and air quality to create the best condition for aerobic reaction, activate regeneration of microorganism inside waste, and to make waste anaerobic condition turn to aerobic condition soon. Degradation velocity of waste is 20 to 30 times faster than degradation velocity in anaerobic condition, which significantly reduces duration for stabilizing landfill. Com- pared with traditional landfill technology, one-time investment on aerobic restoration technology is big but treatment duration is short. Major processing equipment can be used repeatedly.

  Technical Advantage

Speed up degradation significantly and facilitate stabilization of landfill

Reduces generation and emission of greenhouse gases (methane)

Reduce emission load of leachate and follow-up treatment expenses

Capable of disposing closed landfill and the equipment can be used repeatedly

  Case Introduction

The location of Wuhan Jinkou landfill is major place for the 10th China International Horticulture Exposition in 2015. This is the first time that China build garden on the closed landfill and make it the major expo location. This bold move is of great significance. Wu- han Horticulture Exposition takes up floor area about 201.6 hectare, with Jinkou landfill taking up 52 hectare, about 26% of the total loca- tion. Jinkou landfill aerobic ecology restoration project is the biggest project among those apply aerobic ecology restoration technology in China.
